On Monday December 12th, I publicly presented my preliminary report, What is and What Should Be: An Assessment of Needs in the North Brookfield Schools. The report represents an outcome of a proactive needs assessment undertaken to identify and prioritize opportunities for performance improvement initiatives.
Positive change begins with an honest assessment of the status quo. As a learning community, we need to know and celebrate our strengths, such as our graduation rate and 10th grade student performance in English Language Arts, both of which place North Brookfield among the top 30% of schools in Massachusetts. At the same time, we need to take an unvarnished look at areas where improvement is needed.
I am convinced that the citizens of North Brookfield desire a better future…especially for their children. As I continue my work, I look forward to helping the community to develop and implement an agenda to improve children’s lives and create a better future.

Sincerely,
John A. Provost, Ed,D Superintendent of Schools |
